NEW FOREST RUNNERS JUNIORS The New Forest Runners Juniors had a very successful day at the Hampshire Championships at Fairthorne Manor on Saturday 9th January.

The boys were particularly strong with both the under 11 boys team and under 13 boys team achieving bronze medals. Gracie Hawkins was the only under 11 girl representing the club, but did herself proud coming a very respectable 14th out of a field of 46 runners. There was a good turnout for the under 11 boys with Oliver Herbert coming a well deserved 5th place, Freddie Fox finishing 15th, Patrick Atkinson 18th, Reuben Kendall 21st, Joe Youngs 25th, Toby Hawkins 38th, James Rose 47th and finally Jack Rose finishing in 52nd place. The under 13 boys were also well represented with Sean Harnett finishing in 4th place, Ben Nealon in 10th, Callum Olden in 20th and Ben Ingram in 33rd.

The under 17 women had Hannah Froud coming home in 6th place, Holly Collier in 10th and Katherine Charles in 18th. Finally, the under 17 men were represented by Connor Lopez racing home in 5th place, Henry Harris in 14th and Henry Lowndes in 23rd. As a result of their efforts, a number of the Juniors are now being considered to represent Hampshire at the Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships in Birmingham in March.
